Magical Anti-Aging Serum with Essential Oils

I’m always looking for ways to look and feel Younger and Healthier. This is my latest “Lotion or Potion” to make my face look Younger, Healthier and more Vibrant. It is a new Anti-Aging Serum that I created yesterday as a Birthday Present for a close friend. I have been researching which Essential Oils help support Healthy Skin and there are quite a few.  I gathered together all of the ones in the photo above. If you do not have all of them… that’s ok. The ones that I recommend the most are Frankincense, Lavender, Copaiba  or Stress Away. All of those come in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit at 50% off! After you get the Premium Starter Kit all of your purchases will be 24% off forever! The other Essential Oils in  the photo you will want to add to your collection with time. The carrier oils that I used were Jojoba, Almond and Rose Hip Oils. Be sure to buy the Highest Quality Oils that you can find. For Essential Oils I will only use Young Living Essential Oils. They have farms all over the world and manage the production of high quality Organic Essential Oils from Seed to Seal. That means they choose high quality seeds, plant them and oversee all parts of growing, harvesting and making the oils. You can’t get any better than that! I mixed all of the oils in a small bowl and then poured them into little roller balls. You can use a dropper bottle or a rollerball of any size. I use little 2 ml rollerballs for presents. I give 2 of them, one for home and one to carry in your purse… in case of and Anti-Aging emergency.

All of the Oils below will help your skin in so many ways. Use your serum once or twice a day after you wash your face. You can use you favorite night cream at night or sunscreen during the day.

Find a Sensuous Hat to Love

A Sensuous Hat is essential if you Love to spend time outdoors. As a Sensuous Gardener I spend lots of time outside in a variety of activities. And I always try to wear my Sensuous Hat. It protects my skin from the aging effects of the sun and keeps it healthier.  We expose our faces to the sun all the time by walking outside from here to there. It adds up. So grab a Hat!

Finding a great Hat is an adventure. Last spring I found my Sensuous Hat in a local Outdoors Shop. It’s perfect for my lifestyle. I did have trouble picking a color because I liked all 3 colors… white, dark lavender and black. I picked the white one with black interior… and I love it. It holds up to being rained on and being washed and it has put up with lots of use including being my swim hat. The Art of Living in the Now

The past is gone, and the future is not yet here.  The only thing that you really have is the Now.This moment, and in every moment, you have the opportunity to be fully present.  Becoming more aware, and learning how to be present in each moment will help you stay in touch with your Inner Wisdom and Sensuous Self.  In every moment, you have a choice to go through it mindlessly, on autopilot, or to be fully present, experiencing the Now.  

There are times when we are brought into the moment very quickly and dramatically, and we experience the Now.  A few examples that come to mind are when a baby is born, when someone dies, or even when you are driving your car mindlessly, then suddenly slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of you.  But, there are easier and more subtle ways to experience the Now in everyday Life.    

Increasing your Awareness is key to Experiencing the Now.  In Sullins Stuart’s Book “Living in Conscious Harmony: A Spiritual Guide to being in the Now,” he calls this “Intentional Awareness.”  Intentional Awareness means bringing your Awareness fully to whatever you are doing in each moment.  As you are reading this blog, are you fully present in this moment, or is your mind dwelling in the past, or projecting into the future?  Living in the Now means engaging all of your Senses in this moment, and every moment.  Right now, as you stare at your computer, use your Senses to become aware of your surroundings.  Are you sitting in a chair?  Is the chair comfortable?  Is it hard or soft?  Are you sitting with good posture, or are you straining your neck or shoulders?  If you are drinking something . . . is it hot or cold?  Is your environment warm or cool?  Are you aware of any sounds or smells around you?  As I ask you these questions, your mind will generate thoughts.  What I am suggesting is to let go of these thoughts about the Now.  Let go of judgments, analysis, and expectations about what you are experiencing, and Just Experience the Now . . . with all of your Senses.  You will become more connected to your Inner Wisdom and Sensuous Self when you experience the Now!

 Living in the Now is a worthy aspiration.  It can help us avoid ruminating about the past, or attempting to predict the future.  The only thing that is real is the Now, one moment at a time.   Practice Intentional Awareness whenever you can.  Fully engage in all of your experiences with all of your Senses, and you will gain insights about Yourself, and the Universe without really trying at all.  Each and every moment offers you a new opportunity to practice.

Vibrate with the Universe … Make Noise !

When you are having fun… make noise! I’m thinking of Sex and Massage as I write this because for most people noise is a natural part of expressing Sensuous and Sexual activites. The next time that you are having Sex or getting a Massage be sure to take deep breaths and let Sound happen. You may notice that you find yourself trying to control the sound or judge it. This reduces your connection to your Sensuous Self. So… Stop controlling…stop judging… Instead just feel what is going on and let the sound come out as nature intended… Ask your Lover or Massage Person how they feel about someone being noisy or loud.  In most cases I’m sure you will find that being noisy is good and preferred. It lets the other person know what you like, and what you don’t like. Feedback In the form of unsensored expression of sound is an excellent way to ask for what you want and need without saying a word. A person really enjoying themself makes Noise. I also find myself being Noisy when I eat a Sensuous meal. Some meals are just Orgasmic. If you don’t know what I mean… you will when you read my book or a future blog! There are many pleasurable activities that just make you want to let sound out. After a cold swim in a pool or a day of skiing , a hot shower can make you want to moan…so do it. Start to become aware when you censor yourself as it relates to sound.  Of course there are some occasions when you do need to hold back… and that’s understandable.  But for the most part it’s important to let sound out of your body. The vibrations of Sound can be very energizing and healing. So be Noisy whenever you can.

  Singing is also a wonderful way to be Noisy. Sing everyday. My Lover walks around the house making up songs. If you have that talent…use it. If you are shy like me, about singing, do it in the shower, in your car, at home with the stereo playing loudly… or with friends if you are feeling brave.

If singing is not your thing, you could try Chanting. Chanting is amazing with a large group of people or just by yourself. OM is the sound that the Universe vibrates to… So chant it at least 3 times or as often as you wish. To chant OM  take a deep breath and and say Ohhhhhh for most of the breath and them Mmmmm for the ending. The deeper you breathe, the longer you can stretch it out. Breathe deeply again and repeat Ohhhhhh then Mmmmmm. Do this as long as you like and remember that you are vibrating to the sound of the Universe. This is very calming and even more mystical when done with a group of people. You can feel the vibration in the air that surrounds you. The next time you are with a group of friends ask them if they’d like to try to chant the sound the Universe vibrates to… Ok they may think that you are wierd but it is an easy way to see who needs help being Noisy or getting in touch with their Sensuous Self. 😉  You could also share this concept with them and help them get healthier by freeing the Noise that may be stuck inside of them.

To improve your connection to your Sensuous Self, use Sound to connect to your world whenever possible.  And whenever you feel disconnected from the Universe take a deep breath and Ommmmm.

I learned how to walk (mindfully) at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies!    

I’m just getting back to the real world after a week of R&R at Omega Institute in Reinbeck NY. Omega is a place that I refer to as Yoga Camp.  For me, it is a place to rejuvenate my Yoga practice, and reconnect with my Inner Wisdom and Sensuous Self. . . . But it’s a whole lot more.  It’s a beautiful place in the country with a Peaceful Lake and great Vegetarian food.  And, of course there are lots of wonderful people that you meet along the way . . . including the excellent staff, and the other guests that you meet at mealtimes, in workshops, at the café, or just walking along the path next to the mountain stream that runs through the campus. . . . The overall relaxed feeling that surrounds you,    helps you let go of stress.  

 At Omega, there are all kinds of workshops related to being Creative, Mindful, and Healthy in Body, Mind, and Spirit.  Omega is also very involved with innovations to help us become more aware of how to help our planet be more Healthy.  This week, they had a Permaculture Workshop with Andrew Faust, which related to Sustainability and the Health of the World. I enjoyed the tour of the Omega Center for Sustainable Living.  

 The things I liked best at Omega:

~ Yoga Class . . .  with Kayla Valentino, “a passionate Yoga Instructor who focuses on self-love and the sacred union of body, mind, and soul.”  * I thought that she was gentle and used lots of beautiful, encouraging words during the practice about self-love and nurturing… My most favorite Yoga Class I’ve had in a long time.  

~ Walking Meditation . . . Learning how to walk (mindfully) with Craig, the visiting Zen Guy.  As I walked behind him, I realized how difficult it was for me to walk slowly. . . . I heard messages from my feet, and gained an understanding that I need to slow down a bit to stay grounded.  

~ Walking the Labyrinth . . . Learning how to walk (mindfully) with an elephant walk was taught to me by Christina Zaccheo, R&R Coordinator. . . . She explained several philosophies about Walking the Labyrinth . . . and then she walked it with me.  

~ Playtime with Howard Moody was probably my most favorite activity. . . . He said that children laugh 400 times a day, and adults only laugh 15 times a day. . . . He proceeded to make us laugh 400 times an hour. It’s all about Creative play that Adults can really get into . . . it’s very hard to explain. You will reconnect with your Playful Self with Howard, who knows how to play, and makes it easy for you to let your playful self come out to play. . . .  His playful Spirit will inspire you…  

~ Group discussion on Signs, Symbols, Archetypes, Numerology, etc. . . . led by Marcy Currier. This group somehow evolved into finding insights into how we feel about our Names. Spending time thinking back on what our Names meant to us throughout of lives and sharing this with the group,  brought us all closer together as each of us gained new insights into this powerful word which is our Name.  We also discussed thoughts on Numerology, and how to remember names . . . which I needed!  I will never forget the names of my new friends that I met in that group!  Lori, Kelly, Rick, and Marcy.  

  ( Also won’t forget you Kim…1st person I met at Omega … I will be reading your Book called “Kicked out of the Garden”)  

~ Shamanistic Sound Medicine Experience with Rich Goodheart was amazing. He talked about the sound of our own name…  another theme for me this week . . . . I got up and sang my name…Very scary and liberating.  He also created a concert within a Workshop.  We had our eyes closed throughout the performance, and I was sure that he brought in several people to help him with the music which was quite complex and beautiful.  

Other Fun Things at Omega …

~ The Garden was beautifully designed and had been given lots of attention. A lush blooming Cherry Tree was the centerpiece of the Garden.  The Raised Beds and overall Sensuous Design inspired me to start planning new things to incorporate into my Gardens.  

~ The food was wonderful, colorful and Healthy and I really enjoyed having someone else cook!  I was also inspired to add new things to my Menus at home…The food was Vegetarian mostly. . . .  

~ The cafe overlooking the stream was a beautiful place to listen to music by Rich, and talk with new friends (David, Kelly and Martha) … And of course I have to mention the exotic teas, and other Sensuous, Edible Things . . . like Dragoba Dark Chocolate with Chilis, or Dark Chocolate with Lavender and Blueberry.  

~ The Wellness Center… Has Endless Sensuous Experiences… Massage is always a great option, and I loved my AMMA Massage with Elise.    

The most important thing to remember about Omega is to try to take the “relaxed you” from Omega, and integrate yourself back into the World, staying connected to your Inner Wisdom and Sensuous Self.    I highly recommend this experience to anyone who needs to Relax, have Fun, and get  Healthier.  

 I will be back next year for a Workshop or R&R. . . . I’m also planning to finish my book, “Be Your Own Sensuous Life Coach,” by early 2015, and then applying to Omega . . . To do my Workshop called “Be Your Own Sensuous Life Coach” in 2016!    

For a Memorable Experience, I recommend that you Go To Omega Institute As Soon As possible. . . . you will be happy that you did!

Sleep and the Sensuous Woman

     Get Better Sleep!!!
  It’s impossible to be a Sensuous Woman if you are not sleeping well! Poor sleep can cause irritability, grumpiness, and feeling overall stressed out, both mentally and physically. This can lead to all sorts of other bad things.  Being a Sensuous, Sexy Woman is low on the list of a sleep-deprived woman.

      Hormones play a huge role in sleep. Estrogen and Progesterone, in particular, are important for sound sleep. When a woman is going through Menopause or Peri Menopause, these hormones can be unbalanced.  I’ve read about this many times over, but when my hormones run out (I use bio identical hormone pellets), the first thing that I notice is that my sleep is disturbed.  I normally wake up several times a night, for water or a bathroom break, and when my hormones are gone, I find that I cannot get back to sleep easily. Sometimes, I lie awake for hours, and then just get up. I also do not dream very much at all without adequate amounts of these hormones. This robs me of restorative sleep. When my hormones are balanced, I get back to sleep easily and dream vividly. Deep sound sleep is critical to being healthy, so it’s important to improve it any way you can. 

      There are many coping skills to use to help with sleep. Guided relaxation is one example. You can learn more about Guided Meditation online, or use the example below to create your own Guided Meditation. (You can also use your smartphone to record your own voice.)

      If sleep issues continue, tell your Doctor about your sleep problem, or go to a sleep specialist. Fixing the problem is essential. Feeling healthy is the key to being a Sensuous Woman.

      Other options include…

      ~ Go to an Anti-Aging doctor who understands bio identical hormones to discuss your needs.

      ~ See an Endocrinologist to assess you for other hormonal imbalances.

      ~ Take a supplement shown to help ease Menopausal symptoms.

      ~ Take a supplement that helps with sleep like Melatonin.

      ~ Learn about how diet and exercise can help with hormonal issues.

Pay attention to messages from your Inner Wisdom. . . .

      If you have problems sleeping . . . don’t procrastinate.  Find a way to improve your sleep ASAP! You may need to see your health practitioner to be sure that there is not a medical problem that needs to be addressed. You may also need to examine your emotional health, and do whatever it takes to resolve any issues that are keeping you from connecting to your true self, or peace of mind.

 
An example of Guided Meditation

      Begin by taking a deep breath . . . in through your nose and out through your mouth.

As you breathe in, imagine that you are breathing in energy and lightness . . . . As you breathe out, imagine that you are breathing out all negativity. . . . Breathe in again . . . and breathe out. . . . Continue breathing for 6 breaths.

Now, focus your attention on your toes and all the muscles of your feet . . . suggest to your feet that they relax,  and feel the relaxation. . . . Breathe in . . . breathe out.  Focus your attention on the calves of your legs. . . . .Suggest to your calves that they relax. . . . . Let go of tension . . . and feel the relaxation. . . . Focus you attention on your knees and your thighs. . . . . Notice any tightness that you feel. . . . Suggest to your knees and your thighs that they relax . . . and feel the relaxation. . . . (Continue on with all of your body parts if you stay awake that long)

The Sensuous Woman’s Cure for Stress

THE SENSUOUS WOMAN’S CURE FOR STRESS…
GET SOME NEGATIVE IONS!

       When you are feeling overwhelmed by Life, for one reason or another . . . Go Outside, and spend time in Nature. Find a place to sit near trees and moving water, if possible. Leave your electronics inside for at least half an hour or more. Take a journal, and something to drink. I also take a pillow along so I can sit anywhere I want. Nature is outside generating Oxygen and Negative ions for you!

      Negative ions are the good ones. Negative Ions are healing, and increase the Oxygen in your brain. This increases Serotonin, alertness, and your Sense of Well Being. Look for a place with a babbling brook, or go to the Beach, or to the Mountains. Find a Nature Preserve near where you live, and go there as often as you can. These are the places where you will find tens of thousands of Negative Ions in the air. A spring thunderstorm also creates an abundance of Negative Ions.

      When you go to one of these special places, or sit outside after a thunderstorm . . . Just sit, listen, and write if you want. Breathe in deeply and slowly, and exhale completely. Relax your eyes as you gently gaze at the water, or the natural setting that surrounds you. If you have trouble sitting still, do 5 minutes of Yoga, or any moves you like. As you breathe in, focus on the energy-filled, clean air as it flows through you . . . and, as you breathe out, imagine that all of your stress is flowing out of your body, mind, and soul. Continue to breathe slow, long, deep breaths. This is a wonderful time to listen for messages from your Inner Wisdom. If you notice any thoughts that you want to remember, grab your journal, and make a few notes.

      When you really can’t get away . . . you can increase the Negative Ions Indoors where you live by adding plants and moving water into your environment. Create or buy a fountain, and a few houseplants to help clean the air, and generate negative ions.  You really can create an indoor green space. It’s easier than you think. I will write “How To’s” in other blog entries. 

      So the next time you are feeling stressed, remember the Sensuous Woman’s Cure for Stress …  and get some Negative Ions!   

Rekindle the Fire

Rekindle the Fire      Find ways to spark your Sexual Imagination! When it comes to sex, women are more commonly turned on by words and ideas, or descriptions of romantic, hot relationships. On the other hand, they say men are more visual, and turned on by photographs, erotic art, or videos. And, although that may be true, women can be turned on by sexy stories, and sexy images too. The popularity of the book, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” proves that quite a few people like to read about sex.  Fantasies are an important way to spark your sexual imagination. Many years ago, Nancy Friday wrote a book entitled “My Secret Garden” which was a collection of women’s sexual fantasies. This collection demonstrates, without a doubt, that women have all sorts of sexual fantasies. If you have a chance to get a copy of this book, you will find it quite interesting. Hundreds of women answered the call to report their sexual fantasies. Of course, it’s important to remember that most fantasies look much better on paper that they do in real life. Trying to live out the fantasies is not the goal. The goal is to discover sexual fantasies that stimulate your sensuous imagination, and fire up your sexual desire.  An easy way to use fantasy to improve your libido is to go to a bookstore, and check out the erotic section. Look through the books, and find one that you like. Read it in bed alone, or with your Lover.  The goal is to find one that helps you rekindle the fire. If your lover is around, he will be fascinated that you are reading sexy stories, and will be more than willing to let you read him a “bedtime story.”
