Getting older? Learn how to stop waking up each day with aches and pains!

I believe that you can wake up every morning without aches and pains, stiff joints and low energy!

I am currently in my 60’s. I would have to say that as I got older, especially after 50 years old… I started to notice that every morning I woke up stiff and achy. I used to think that was what happened as you age and there was not a whole lot to do about it. And in spite of the fact that I have been doing yoga since I was 17 and have been a vegetarian on and off for most of my Life… This was still happening to me. The good news is that I figured out how to make it stop… and I want to share it with you.

Before I get started let me say that I’m NOT trying to sell you anything. Most of the time when I read this sort of stuff online there’s usually a bottom line that the person wants to sell you something and that’s not what this is about. And, what I’m about to tell you is not “New” news; however, I felt the need to share it with you because it has become extremely obvious that it works. And even though it will take some effort on your part, you really don’t have to buy anything special to make this happen. You just have to make some changes in your life!

I used to say, “I will never be a Vegan!” I used to say, “I’ll become a Vegan if I get really sick and my body needs to heal itself.”

Then one day, about 7 months ago I decided that inflammation was my enemy and I was going to do everything I could to stop it from taking over my body as I got older. Inflammation is responsible for heart disease, arthritis, and many more diseases too numerous to mention. A vegan diet reduces inflammation and can make you feel better. I believe this is true; however, becoming a vegan is not easy. I love cheese so I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to do it! I tried being a vegan just one week to see if I could do it. After just 1 week I realized that my aches and pains in the morning we’re going away. This of course made me want to do it more and I decided I would do it for a couple months and then get my blood work done to see how everything looked. Then the pandemic happened so I haven’t had my blood work done, but I can tell you that I have more energy everyday and I do not wake up in the mornings anymore with aches pains or stiffness! My knees don’t bother me…my back doesn’t bother me … my neck doesn’t bother me… and my hands aren’t stiff in the morning.

So I woke up this morning and I decided that I’m going to start writing more about this and helping others become vegans if they want to!

If you are serious about feeling better this is something you need to look into! I’m planning to start doing some videos about how to cook like a vegan… And I’m going to start blogging about it more regularly. The reason I woke up today and decided that I needed to do this was that yesterday I decided to eat some pizza and sugary bagel. Not sure why… But it was mostly because I had a busy day. The pizza and sugary bagel became available to me and I thought I would try them and it probably wouldn’t bother me just for one day. I was wrong! Today I woke up with stiff hands and felt achy all over. That’s a lot of proof when it comes right down to it. So if you’re getting older and you wake up in the morning feeling pretty yucky… becoming a vegan maybe something you need to really embrace. I know lots of secrets about how to be a happy vegan. I even know the best vegan cheeses and how to make dishes that make you feel like you’re a person eating normal food! So stay tuned and I will help you turn your life around so that you feel younger every day.

Take care of your DNA with Positive Thoughts!

You can Improve every part of your Life with your Thoughts! Or you can destroy your Life with your thoughts. It’s important to remember that you have the power to create the Physical and Emotional Health that you desire by paying attention to your Thoughts. Your Thoughts are very powerful! I have always believed that you can change your Life by becoming aware of your thoughts, embracing Positive Thoughts and letting go of the Negative ones. And although it is true that you can’t control everything that happens to you, you can control your reaction to it. And that has an impact on your Health and Well Being.

Recently I have been reading a Book by Dr Caroline Leaf called “Switch on your Brain” and I wanted to share with you some of the information that I thought was fascinating.
The Book refers to the Mind Body Connection and how our thoughts directly affect our Physical Well Being.

~ Research shows that 75-98% of mental , physical and behavioral health comes from one’s thought life.
~ DNA actually changes shape according to our thoughts.
~ Research* shows that thinking and feeling anger, fear and frustration caused DNA to change shape.
~ Due to our thoughts and feelings the DNA responded by tightening up and becoming shorter, and switching off DNA codes which reduced the Quality of Expression.

“Quality of Expression” means how well our DNA does what it’s supposed to do and relates to which genes are turned on and off and how they well they work. All of that, in part, depends on our thoughts… So when we say we feel shut down by Negative Emotions it kind of makes sense.

~ Negative Thoughts lead to Stress which affects the Body’s ability to Heal itself.
~ This can all be reversed by Positive Thoughts of Love, Joy and Gratitude.Becoming aware of our Negative Thoughts is the first step. When you become aware of a Negative Thought, ask yourself if you can let go of it or reframe it. Sometimes looking for the Positive in any situation helps. Remembering things that you cause you to feel gratitude can also help you change that Negative pattern of thinking. It’s very important to notice when you are engaging in Negative Self Talk or holding onto Negative feelings. Just tell yourself to “Stop” and think of something that makes you happy or engage in Positive Self Talk…whether you believe it 100% or not. Positive Self Talk can be something simple like thinking ” Everything is OK, everything is Fine.” or ” I am thankful for all of my Blessings.” Positive Self Talk is very Powerful! And remember that giving Negative Energy to any situation, never helps and it can make you sick in both Mind and Body.

This also relates to messages that we give to ourselves… like…” I’m not very Sensuous.” Thinking of yourself as a Sensuous Person is all it takes to begin to change that mindset…

Mindful Forest Breathing

Mindful Forest Breathing… Forest Breathing is all about being Mindful and being out in Nature.¬†You don’t have to have a Forest to do this… Just go outside and find some green space away from the noise and hubbub of everyday life. You will feel more connected and more Sensuous when you stay in touch with Mother Nature. This is a 5 minute exercise for when you only have a few minutes to spare but remember that minutes add up and 5 minutes done regularly adds up.

 

Mindful Meditation –¬† A 5-Minute Meditation Practice for Forest Breathing

 

Find a comfortable place to Sit.

Close your eyes, and rest your open hands, palms up, on your knees.

 

Minute 1: Deep Breathing.

Begin by Following your Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Inhale for the count of 4, then Exhale to the count of 6.  Become aware of how your body feels as you sit there with your eyes closed.

 

Minute 2:  Find your Natural Breath . . .

Stop Counting and feel the Pace of your Natural Breath . . . feel your Body Rising and Falling.  Become aware of how your body feels as you sit there being Still.  This is Mindful Breathing . . . becoming fully aware of your Breath as it moves in and out of your Body.

 

Minute 3: Continue Mindful Breathing being fully aware of your Breath.

If thoughts come, just look at them, and then imagine them floating down a river, or put them on a cloud and watch them gently float away.

 

Minute 4: Slowly stop Focusing on your Awareness of your Breath and just be Still.

There is nothing that you have to do.

 

Minute 5: Reorient yourself to your surroundings.

Adopt an attitude of Mindful Gratitude. Think about something that you are grateful for. Open your Eyes, and carry this peacefulness along with you today.

 

Forest Breathing for 20 minutes.

You can go through the steps of Mindful Meditation. You can stay in each phase as long as you wish. Deep Breathing in the Forest increases the Oxygen in your Body, so be sure to do that phase a bit longer than 1 minute if you can.  The Trees and Plants are creating Oxygen for us, and we give them Carbon Dioxide. It’s a really beautiful arrangement. Feel gratitude for the Trees, and Feel their Gratitude towards you.  I believe that the Trees are out there being still, breathing and meditating . . . we can learn from them. Find a place in the woods and begin.

Amazing Vegetarian Gluten Free Chicken Noodle Soup!

img_20170119_130101792_hdr.jpgBeing a Vegetarian I still occasionally miss certain things that I used to enjoy…like Chicken Noodle Soup. And, lately I’ve been experimenting with going Gluten Free. So Chicken Noodle Soup seemed to be something that was out of the question… Until now… I decided to make it happen. I made Vegetarian Gluten Free Chicken Noodle Soup that was amazing!

Here is how I did it. I used Quorn¬†Chik’n Tenders, Jovial Gluten Free Spaghetti and Pacific Brand Vegetarian Chicken Broth. I added saut√©ed onions and shitake mushrooms and a diced potato and a little poultry seasoning.¬† And I created the best Vegetarian Chicken Noodle Soup… Here is the recipe. Great with a little Udi’s Gluten Free Bread toasted and topped with butter.Please share with friends and tell them where you got the¬† recipe!

1 onion sliced and sauteed with olive oil for 3-4 minutes

Add half a bag¬† Quorn Chik’n nuggets and Saute till slightly cooked and then cut each piece in half.

Add a handful of Shitake mushrooms Cook  2 more minutes (be sure to remove the tough stems)

Dice a small potato

Pour Vegetarian Chicken Broth into a saucepan and add the above ingredients.

Add 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning and a little salt and pepper.Cook for 20 minutes .

Grab a very, very small handful of spaghetti. About the size of quarter round. Break spaghetti into 1 inch pieces and throw into soup. Cook 15 more minutes. Remember that¬†the spaghetti will swell so you don’t want too much… And you are done! Enjoy!

Magical Anti-Aging Serum with Essential Oils

I’m always looking for ways to look and feel Younger and Healthier. This is my latest “Lotion or Potion” to make my face look Younger, Healthier and more Vibrant. I have been researching which Essential Oils help support Healthy Skin and there are quite a few. ¬†I gathered together all of the ones in the photo above. If you do not have all of them… that’s ok. The ones that I recommend the most are Frankincense, Lavender, Copaiba¬†¬†or Stress Away. All of those come in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit at 50% off! The carrier oils that I used were Jojoba, Almond and Rose Hip Oils. Be sure to buy the Highest Quality Oils that you can find. For Essential Oils I will only use Young Living Essential Oils.¬†They have farms all over the world and manage the production of high quality Organic Essential Oils from Seed to Seal. That means they choose high quality seeds, plant them and oversee all parts of growing, harvesting and making the oils. You can’t get any¬†better than that! I mixed all of the oils in a small bowl and then poured them into little roller balls. You can use a dropper bottle or a rollerball of any size. I use little 2 ml rollerballs for presents. I give 2 of them, one for home and one to carry in your purse… in case of and Anti-Aging emergency.

All of the Oils below will help your skin in so many ways. Use your serum once or twice a day after you wash your face. You can use you favorite night cream at night or sunscreen during the day.
Recipe

1 Tablespoon Jojoba Oil

1 Tablespoon Rose Hip Oil

1 1/2 Tablespoons Almond Oil

10 Drops of Frankincense

10 Drops Lavender

10 Drops Copaiba or Stress Away

10 Drops Ylang Ylang

5 Drops Patchouli

5 Drops Carrot Seed Oil

5 Drops Geranium

5 Drops Present Time

I learned how to Drum and Sing at Omega ~ “Goddesses Gone Wild” with Sierra Bender

20160807_085801.jpgI learned how to Drum and Sing at Omega Institute, and I met over 20 Goddess who were looking for more ways to get in touch with their Inner Wisdom and Sensuous Self! The Workshop was very Physical, Spiritual, and Sensuous. It included many of my interests including Dancing, Yoga, Essential Oils, being out in Nature, connecting with other Goddesses . . .¬†and having Fun!¬† I also met one really nice guy who wanted to be in our Goddess Workshop, and was invited by Sierra¬†to join our morning Circle. He and several other beautiful spirits¬†stopped by to join our Drumming Circle as well, and others sat nearby and listened.¬† Drumming and Singing was an amazing way to start each day. Sierra’s voice was Strong, Passionate, and Inspiring.¬† She was our leader and role model. I learned how to Drum and Sing with Passion. We all evolved toward feeling more free to show passion with each passing day … which was very appropriate for the “Goddesses Gone Wild” Workshop.

Morning hikes were very physical, and definitely helped cardio. But, I only went on one hike, due to a previous knee issue. I decided I’d rather¬†go for a¬†walk in the morning, so I could do the morning Yoga workout and participate in the afternoon dancing for hours. ūüėČ

We did a Vision Quest . . .a short one, but still very powerful. We enjoyed silent time alone in the Forest for several hours. It increased my awareness of the 100 acres of woods that I call home.  I need to remember that the Woods are sacred, and I need to celebrate it by doing my Sensuous Women Workshops there.  I also want to have more Vision Quests on my own, and learn more about them. I believe that the more we can be out in Nature and feel connected to Mother Nature . . . the better.

The dancing parts of the Workshops were energetic Fun. We got to Dance with several Drummers, and an enthusiastic Journey Dance Instructor Toni Bergins . The dancing was wild and passionate. During  the next afternoon workshop, we had a Sensuous Dance Instructor Lisa Zarowitz , show us how to get in touch with our Inner Sensuous,Sexy Dancer. The Music was excellent, and the Dance moves were Fun, Funny, Sexy, and Sensuous!

During our time at the Workshop, there was a full moon, and several of us Goddesses decided to go see the moon come up over the Lake. We had a Bonfire, and Sang and Drummed and Howled at the Moon. It was a memorable experience!

It was also nice just being at Omega Institute, and enjoying the like-minded people all around. It was a luxury having someone else create Vegetarian Meals for 6 days. The café with a deck overlooking the garden was a lovely place to hang out with friends, and eat something decadent, like chocolate chip cookies or sweet potato fries. The Lake was beautiful and peaceful, and I enjoyed kayaking one morning and singing songs I learned during the morning circle.  Aromatherapy is one of my latest passions, and it was great fun having a portion of one of the days dedicated to Essential Oils.  I believe that they are absolutely Essential for creating amazing wellness in Body, Mind, and Spirit!  One of the most bonding experiences was the Fire Ceremony on the last night. We told stories and shared thoughts and feelings. We made affirmations about many different parts of our Lives, and we Sang and Drummed. I left Omega the next day with a refreshed Spirit and with new thoughts and ideas related to my own Workshops for Sensuous Women. I also had a plan to Sing and Drum every day! And stay in touch with the wonderful Goddesses I met along the way.

Thanks, Sierra, for¬†teaching me¬†how to Drum and Sing . . . and for being a teacher of Women . . . helping them become “The Person They Want to Be”.

Sensuous Essential Oil ~ Lemon

Lemon Essential Oil is amazing.¬† Without a doubt it will make you more Sensuous! I drink a few drops of Lemon oil in water every day. I love to add a tsp. of tart cherry juice and a bit of stevia along with the Lemon essential oil for a sweet treat… and tart cherry juice is great for your joints.¬† When you drink Lemon essential oil be sure to use a glass or stainless steel container.¬† This is because¬† Lemon oil will dissolve Styrofoam and break down plastic.
