Getting older? Learn how to stop waking up each day with aches and pains!

I believe that you can wake up every morning without aches and pains, stiff joints and low energy!

I am currently in my 60’s. I would have to say that as I got older, especially after 50 years old… I started to notice that every morning I woke up stiff and achy. I used to think that was what happened as you age and there was not a whole lot to do about it. And in spite of the fact that I have been doing yoga since I was 17 and have been a vegetarian on and off for most of my Life… This was still happening to me. The good news is that I figured out how to make it stop… and I want to share it with you.

Before I get started let me say that I’m NOT trying to sell you anything. Most of the time when I read this sort of stuff online there’s usually a bottom line that the person wants to sell you something and that’s not what this is about. And, what I’m about to tell you is not “New” news; however, I felt the need to share it with you because it has become extremely obvious that it works. And even though it will take some effort on your part, you really don’t have to buy anything special to make this happen. You just have to make some changes in your life!

I used to say, “I will never be a Vegan!” I used to say, “I’ll become a Vegan if I get really sick and my body needs to heal itself.”

Then one day, about 7 months ago I decided that inflammation was my enemy and I was going to do everything I could to stop it from taking over my body as I got older. Inflammation is responsible for heart disease, arthritis, and many more diseases too numerous to mention. A vegan diet reduces inflammation and can make you feel better. I believe this is true; however, becoming a vegan is not easy. I love cheese so I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to do it! I tried being a vegan just one week to see if I could do it. After just 1 week I realized that my aches and pains in the morning we’re going away. This of course made me want to do it more and I decided I would do it for a couple months and then get my blood work done to see how everything looked. Then the pandemic happened so I haven’t had my blood work done, but I can tell you that I have more energy everyday and I do not wake up in the mornings anymore with aches pains or stiffness! My knees don’t bother me…my back doesn’t bother me … my neck doesn’t bother me… and my hands aren’t stiff in the morning.

So I woke up this morning and I decided that I’m going to start writing more about this and helping others become vegans if they want to!

If you are serious about feeling better this is something you need to look into! I’m planning to start doing some videos about how to cook like a vegan… And I’m going to start blogging about it more regularly. The reason I woke up today and decided that I needed to do this was that yesterday I decided to eat some pizza and sugary bagel. Not sure why… But it was mostly because I had a busy day. The pizza and sugary bagel became available to me and I thought I would try them and it probably wouldn’t bother me just for one day. I was wrong! Today I woke up with stiff hands and felt achy all over. That’s a lot of proof when it comes right down to it. So if you’re getting older and you wake up in the morning feeling pretty yucky… becoming a vegan maybe something you need to really embrace. I know lots of secrets about how to be a happy vegan. I even know the best vegan cheeses and how to make dishes that make you feel like you’re a person eating normal food! So stay tuned and I will help you turn your life around so that you feel younger every day.

Feel free to email me at and I will try to answer your questions. My Book “Be Your Own Sensuous Life Coach” is available on Amazon in Paperback or starting at 99 cents on Kindle! My next Book will be called “Becoming a Vegan” “Being happy without cheese!” or something like that! 🙂

Tip #1 I have found several products that I love that help me in my journey. Miyoko’s cultured Vegan Butter is amazing! And I love their soft Mozzarella Cheese. I also love “Field Roast” Chao cheese slices! They are amazing on Beyond Burgers.

Boost Immunity with CBD?

The ECS and The Immune System

There are many things that you can do to support your Immune System! Staying stress free really helps the Immune system function properly. And, that can be a very hard thing to do! I have tried CBD Oils and I know that they reduce anxiety and help me sleep better. Both of these things are needed to have a healthy Immune system. Auto Immune disease is another example of the Immune system acting badly, or over reacting. Sleep, relaxation and eating well all play a huge role in your Immune Health. So please take care of yourself!

The article below is from Joy Organics CBD, a company that I recommend for high quality CBD!

The ECS and The Immune System

Creating and supporting a healthy immune system is fundamental to avoid getting sick. While catching the common cold or flu is inevitable, a strong immune system can make symptoms much more manageable and reduce the likelihood of a more serious infection.

These days, it’s more important than ever to maintain strong immunity and do what it takes to make the immune system as strong as possible.

Getting regular exercise and plenty of sleep, staying hydrated, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, not smoking, drinking alcohol in moderation and frequently washing your hands are all beneficial for strengthening the immune system.

Did you know that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a large role in immune function?

It’s true! Ensuring your endocannabinoid system is strong and healthy could help ensure immunity is strong and healthy.

Here we’ll take a closer look at how the ECS supports immunity and how supporting the ECS might lead to a stronger immune response.

Understanding the Basics of Immunity

Before we get too deep into the endocannabinoid system and how it might help support immune function, it’s important to have a basic understanding of immunity itself.

To stay strong and healthy, it’s vital to keep toxins and pathogens as far away from making their way into the body as possible. This just so happens to be the job of the immune system.

One of the major roles of the immune system is to evaluate what’s “good” and what’s “bad” coming into the body. If something “bad” does happen make its way in, the immune system works to destroy whatever it is before it can do lasting damage.

When the immune system is healthy, it’s all systems go. Viruses and other nasty intruders are kept at bay or kicked to the curb before they can truly take a toll. On the other hand, a not-so-healthy immune system doesn’t have the defenses to keep these toxins out nor the strength to fight them off when they make their way in. This is why the flu and other illnesses can be so dangerous to individuals with a compromised immune system.

It’s suggested that one way to achieve a balanced state of healthy immunity and regulate immune function is through the endocannabinoid system.

What role does the endocannabinoid system play in immune health? Let’s take a deeper look.

Immune Function and the Endocannabinoid System

Referred to as the most important physiological system that exists, the endocannabinoid system is potentially responsible for a number of different functions including mood, memory, sleep, digestive function, metabolism, appetite, immune function and more.

At the most basic level, the ECS consists of the following:
° Two naturally-occurring endocannabinoids, anandamide and 2-AG.
° Enzymes that synthesize and degrade endocannabinoids, such as fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) and monoacylglycerol lipase
° Two cannabinoid receptors, known as CB1 and CB2.

CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors are both responsible for regulating the release of various chemical messengers. While CB1 receptors are primarily found on neurons, CB2 receptors are primarily found on immune cells. The number of CB2 receptors found in immune cells, for example, is 10-100 times greater than in CB1 receptors.

While research shows that the main functions of the ECS are to support homeostasis, emotional response and mood, cognition and motor function, it’s also suggested that outside of these central functions the ECS is also an important modulator of immune function.

How Does the ECS Support Immune Function?

Research suggests that endocannabinoids can modulate the function of a variety of immune cells through the signaling of cannabinoid receptors.

Immune cells are shown to express both CB1 and CB2 receptors, secrete endocannabinoids and have functional transport and breakdown mechanisms. For example, anandamide synthesis is believed to play an important role in the response of the immune system to cannabinoids.

A 2009 study suggests that the effects of cannabinoids on various immune functions tend to be temporary, allowing one to overcome the inhibiting effects of infection when the immune system requires activation.

Researchers suggest that the downregulation of cannabinoid receptor expression when immune cells are activated supports this.

Although the function of cannabinoid receptors on the immune system isn’t completely understood, it’s assumed that endocannabinoid signaling in lymphoid tissues could help control immune cell activation.

What Are The Effects of Endocannabinoids on Immune Function?

Endocannabinoids are suggested to be important in maintaining the “fine-tuning” of immune balance and play a big role in immune functions.
How exactly does it all work?

For one, endocannabinoids modulate the growth and death of certain lymphocytes, which are white blood cells that are also one of the body’s main types of immune cells and work together to defend against things like viruses and bacteria.

They also modulate inflammatory cytokine production. Cytokines are signaling molecules that are secreted from immune cells and play an integral role in the natural immune response.

Interleukins are a type of cytokine responsible for inducing fever, particularly interleukin-1.

Mary Clifton is a New York City cannabis researcher and internal medicine doctor who suggests cannabinoids like CBD should be used regularly to maintain sound health and avoid the symptoms of colds and flu.

“Around cold and flu season,” Clifton says, “it should be a supplement. You are already in a space to not get sick once you’ve been exposed to the virus.”

She says this is because CBD can affect the number of interleukins the body creates. Considering that endocannabinoids have shown to modulate cytokine production, it makes sense.

The immunosuppressive action of endocannabinoids on immune cells is mainly thought to be mediated through CB2 receptors by inhibiting cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), a well-known regulator of immune cell function. Research suggests that interrupting or enhancing cAMP effects has significant immunoregulatory potential in autoimmune disorders.

A 2003 study highlights that cannabinoids have shown to modulate several immune cell functions in both humans and animals, noting that the endocannabinoid system “might be exploited in future therapies for chronic diseases and immune deficiency.”

Can Supporting the Endocannabinoid System Support Immunity?

It’s clear that the endocannabinoid system plays a large role in immune function. Does this mean that supporting the endocannabinoid system can help support stronger immunity?

It might, but so far there isn’t enough research to say so. While the way the endocannabinoid system functions with the immune system isn’t completely understood, the ECS has shown to regulate cytokine production and inhibit immune system overactivity.

With what is known about the ECS and immunity, maintaining healthy ECS function certainly couldn’t hurt in the pursuit of a stronger immune system.

Amazing Vegan Lunch Box

tofu lunch boxTrying to fix something interesting to take for lunch as a Vegan can be challenging. Here’s a great way to fix a couple of lunches and it really doesn’t take very long to make.
This Vegan Lunch  Box includes a protein like baked tofu,or your favorite Vegan protein, Ramen Noodles, Roasted Veggies and a Vegan Brown Sauce.
Step 1: Get a box of firm or extra firm tofu. Press out a little excess water from the tofu. Cut into long pieces about 1 inch square by the entire length of the tofu. In a baking dish add a drizzle of olive oil and add the tofu. Next I like to sprinkle the tofu with some of my favorite herbs like garlic and basil. Then turn over all of the pieces of tofu and sprinkle with a little pepper and drizzle sriracha sauce and real maple syrup on this other side of the tofu. Then bake and a 350 degree oven approximately 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool. This will be the first layer of your Vegan Lunch Box.
Step 2: Roasted Veggies… Pick some of your favorite vegetables and roast them in the oven at 400° for about 20 minutes. I use a cookie sheet covered with healthier parchment.Carrots are great roasted and you can roast them whole (small diameter carrots work best or cut them in half lengthwise) or you can take a potato peeler and peel them into lots of little curls. Toss with a small amount of olive oil. Take the freshly peeled carrots or pile up the curls and roast them. Next you could take a zucchini and slice it into small slices, toss it with some herbs and olive oil and put that on the pan to roast. Feel free to use any veggies you happen to love to roast for your Vegan Lunch Box. Other vegetables that would be good would be broccoli cauliflower or onions.
Step 3: Boil some water and cook your Vegan Ramen according to directions. When it’s done drain and toss with a tiny bit of olive oil to keep it separated. You could also add the juice from the baked tofu baking dish! I really like Organic Millet and Brown Rice Ramen made by Lous Foods.
Step 4: Make a healthy Chinese brown sauce. Start with 1/3 of a cup of low sodium non GMO soy sauce or organic coconut liquid aminos (a soy substitute that is great). Add to saucepan along with a third of a cup of vegetable stock or water, 1/4 of a cup of real maple syrup or brown rice syrup, a couple of cloves of garlic crushed or minced and one or two teaspoons of grated Ginger. Then mix in 2 teaspoons of organic healthy cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Mixed together and then heat over medium heat until it thickens. Should take 4 or 5 minutes.
After all of these steps are completed you can assemble your lunch box. I love this glass Lunch Box container I found on Amazon! I like to start at one end with tofu and then add long rows of each vegetable and then noodles at the other end. After that take your brown sauce and drizzle it from one side to the other across the middle. you can mix it together if you want when you eat it but it looks really pretty this way and it stays nice. This can be eaten cold at work or heated up. It can also be used for a quick dinner. this is a recipe for two or three depending on your appetite. You can increase the recipe and have it for a couple of days. You can also use different vegetables in each lunch box. If I have green onions I sprinkle a few chopped green onions on top to make it extra special. Hope you love this as much as I did.

Be A Vegan for 2 weeks. Help clean out your blood vessels!

I recently watched a show called “The Game Changers”.

I watched it on Netflix and I would say that it motivated me enough to become a Vegan for a while… I’m not claiming to be a Vegan forever but I’m trying to do it as long as I can to see if I can help clean out my blood vessels from all of my life’s indiscretions. Okay so I have been doing it for two months now and I would say after week one or two the annoying pain in my lower back from wear and tear stopped being there. I can only a attribute this to my Diet. And it may just be lack of certain foods that are known to be the cause of inflammation… Like white flour and sugar. Eating healthy foods like beans and whole grains and Fruits and veggies in any way you want is the focus of Vegan… So, being a vegan means eating no animal products, which includes eggs, milk, cheese and meat of course.

It does sound tough to do… but there are many products that can help you with this. When I decided to become Vegan… the hardest part for me was replacing Cheese. I would have to say that I found a product that I really like and highly recommend.

Miyoko’s Cheeses

Miyoko’s, this is company you should know if you want to be a Happy Vegan.

Almost famous quote,

Anyway, I love their Cream Cheese and their Mozzarella Cheese and it helps me make things I love to make that include cheese. That helped me a lot with being a Vegan. Their Vegan cheeses are made with cashew cream, fermented with live cultures. Read their website if you’re interested there very cool company run by an interesting woman!

I encourage you to try this if you want to make some improvement in your life.  I think anything you can do to reduce inflammation is helpful to your overall quality of life!

If you decide that you want to try to be a Vegan… Try to do this for two weeks and see if you feel more energetic… I think that this is a good test for this particular idea. I really do think being a Vegan will have a healthy effect on you… and you could see results that you’re surprised to see. In the next few blogs I’m going to talk about things I’ve done to make it easier to be a Vegan. It’s hard to be a vegan in our eating out world. But there are a few things you can do…Also I will be adding recipes and the next few blogs so follow me if you want to see them… Or check in from time to time.

Amazing Vegan Frozen Pizza

I recently watched the movie “The Game Changers” on Netflix. It’s about becoming a Vegan. I decided that I would try being a Vegan for a while just to … let’s say clean out my blood vessels. It’s almost like a cleanse and I don’t know how long I will do it…but I’ve been a Vegan for a month. I have to say that I feel better than ever and aches and pains are no longer a problem. I’m eating super healthy… no animal products at all.. but one of my hardest things to not eat is cheese… especially when it comes to Pizza. …And although I can make it from scratch I thought I would try to look for a frozen pizza that was Vegan for times when I really don’t feel like cooking. I went to my local groceries and found pretty much nothing that was Vegan in the frozen pizza aisle. There were many pizzas that were gluten free and dairy free, but none of them were only dairy-free or Vegan. I went to Whole Foods and finally found something that looked like it might be worth trying. After making this pizza from American Flatbread, called Vegan Harvest, I am sure that it is my favorite Pizza like product in the frozen food aisle. Unlike other pizzas the directions recommend that you defrost the pizza for 30 minutes while the oven heats up. During that time I diced and sautéed a small onion and a half of a diced red sweet pepper. I also tossed in a 1/4 of a cup of chopped baby spinach. I sauteed the onion and pepper until almost done in threw the spinach the last minute or two. I topped the pizza with the mixture. Then I cooked it for the allotted time. This flatbread/Pizza was amazing and I highly recommended it. The Vegan cheese was excellent. It will be on my menu at least once a week!

The Best CBD Oils Reviewed (part 2)

Waking up with no lower back pain after sleeping all night is amazing. This is the 2nd review of The Best CBD Oils. I will be discussing my experience with JOY Organics CBD OIL, Premium Hemp Salve and Softgels. I am continuing my quest to determine the Best CBD Oil products and sharing this info with you.

JOY Organics was started by a Woman named Joy Smith who became interested in developing a line of these products after her great success in dealing with a severely strained shoulder muscle and insomnia related to the pain and discomfort. Their products are all Organic which is very important in choosing a CBD Product. I purchased a Bottle of CBD Oil called Joy Organics Premium Hemp Tincture made with phytocannabinoid- rich oil. It comes in several flavors and I bought Lemon. It tastes very mild but contains 500 mg per ounce of Hemp Extract, 15 mg per serving of Hemp Extract and 16.67 mg of CBD per serving with 30 servings per bottle. They also sell higher levels of CBD, up to 1500 mg in a bottle. They have a sample pack that costs $7 that contains a very small container of Premium Hemp Salve, 2 pkts of 2-25mg softgels (NonVegan) and a CBD Energy Drink.

The Soft gels come in 10 mg and 25 mg strength and they are 2x more absorbable than a standard tincture oil. That means you’d have to take 2 times more of other CBD oil based products to get the same absorption.

So, I started to test them on night #1 to see if would help with my lower back pain at night and my insomnia. I took a serving of the Lemon flavor Premium Hemp Tincture (CBD oil). It helped me relax and fall asleep easily. I woke up about 4 hours later with some lower back pain. I decided to try the Premium Hemp Salve. It worked well and I went back to sleep. The next morning, I woke up with no back pain for the first time in a year. I was excited about that!

On night #2 I took a dropper full of the Premium Hemp Tincture and one of the softgels and put a little Premium Hemp Salve on my lower back. I slept longer through the night without waking up and woke up with no back pain.

I decided to share this information with you all this morning.

The shipping was very fast and Free. Their products contain no THC, no gluten, broad spectrum, no harsh chemicals and every batch is tested for quality. They also have a money back guarantee.

Other really cool products include CBD Pet Products,  Skincare, Energy Drinks, Vape Pens, and Gummies.

The Best CBD Oils Reviewed

First of all you may wonder why you would want to use CBD oil. CBD stands for Cannabidiol which is one of the primary natural cannabinoids found in the Hemp plant. This is an amazing natural chemical which helps our body deal with chronic Pain, Depression, Anxiety, Stress and Inflammation. CBD has been used for certain Seizure Disorders for some time and the FDA has approved a prescription version of CBD for this use. CBD is also used to help people deal with the side effects of Cancer treatment, such as nausea and vomiting. Ongoing research is currently being done on CBD. This research on CBD is related to protecting brain function, Alzheimer’s disease, reducing inflammation, Heart health, treatment for acne, PTSD, dealing with addictions and more. There’s a lot of talk about CBD Oil and why you need to start using it. And when you go to buy it either locally or online you realize that there are a ton of brands. It’s really hard to know what is best. There are in fact several things to consider when you choose. In this Blog series I am going to review several companies and their CBD oils that I have tried and will give you honest feedback. I use CBD oil for joint pain, anxiety and to help me sleep. I am very passionate about CBD because it works! In fact, I take it at bedtime and start yawning almost before I get back to bed. I am hopeful that it helps with all inflammation because inflammation is a problem for most of us as we age. There are so many products out there and so many prices that I decided to start reviewing them and share with you my actual results. When you buy CBD oil there are many things to consider. Often, cheaper is not better… You need to buy Organic and see that it has been tested for Quality. Also there are varying concentrations of CBD in products and some have additives. Others have Essential Oils added to them for flavor and they may not be Organic or they could be made with additives or fillers. My plan is to test as many CBD Oils as I can and rate them based to actual use. The first oil that I tested was Natures Ultra CBD Oil I purchased 2 bottles before it was affiliated with Young Living. I would say that I loved the product. I bought the CBD Oil with Citrus Essential Oils and Stevia added to it. And I am happy to say that it did exactly what I needed… especially with sleep, anxiety and also lower back pain. I loved the Citrus taste and Stevia made it taste good. At that time the bottle’s instruction was to put 1 ml under your tongue, up to 3 servings a day. Now that they are affiliated with Young Living it says topical use only. I believe that it is the same product and I find that a bit confusing because Young Living has Oils that are approved to use internally. I will have to say that I absolutely loved the product but hated the dropper bottles. They were hard to open. I wrote to them and they said they were working on it. The product is made with Young Living Essential Oils, which are the best and the CBD oil is Organic and made with care. If you are a member of Young Living then you get wholesale price which is $10 off $99 or $89. You have to have a wholesale acct with Young Living to get that discount. If you want to join Young Living you can get a wholesale acct for $45 by purchasing a Basic Starter Kit, which includes a bottle of Stress Away Essential Oil. Stress Away was how I got started with Young Living. I love it! Inhaling Stress Away helps with Stress and Sleep…. and with a Basic Starter Kit you also get 24% off of all products at, and a couple of samples of Ningxia Red antioxidant Drink. Young Living does have the best Essential Oils in the world and their products go by European standards which means that over 1500 toxic chemicals are not used in their products. has all sorts of Health and Wellness, Bath and Body products and Makeup. This means less Toxins in your Life.

Next month I will be reviewing Joy Organic CBD Oil. I’m going to try the 500 ml CBD oil with lemon…and their $7 samples of CBD soft gels and salve. I will let you know what I think… The products are Organic and they do testing for purity and strength. Please use the link above to check it out sooner. If you buy something, I get a small referral fee which helps my retirement fund. But this does not affect my reviews. 🙂

I hope to review a different company each month. and I will let you know what I honestly think.

If you decide to check out and need to join Young Living please use my member number for enroller and sponsor ID 3056729 Again, it helps my retirement fund… and I love almost all Young Living Products. 🙂

You can read more about CBD Oil on both of those websites.

Take care of your DNA with Positive Thoughts!

You can Improve every part of your Life with your Thoughts! Or you can destroy your Life with your thoughts. It’s important to remember that you have the power to create the Physical and Emotional Health that you desire by paying attention to your Thoughts. Your Thoughts are very powerful! I have always believed that you can change your Life by becoming aware of your thoughts, embracing Positive Thoughts and letting go of the Negative ones. And although it is true that you can’t control everything that happens to you, you can control your reaction to it. And that has an impact on your Health and Well Being.

Recently I have been reading a Book by Dr Caroline Leaf called “Switch on your Brain” and I wanted to share with you some of the information that I thought was fascinating.
The Book refers to the Mind Body Connection and how our thoughts directly affect our Physical Well Being.

~ Research shows that 75-98% of mental , physical and behavioral health comes from one’s thought life.
~ DNA actually changes shape according to our thoughts.
~ Research* shows that thinking and feeling anger, fear and frustration caused DNA to change shape.
~ Due to our thoughts and feelings the DNA responded by tightening up and becoming shorter, and switching off DNA codes which reduced the Quality of Expression.

“Quality of Expression” means how well our DNA does what it’s supposed to do and relates to which genes are turned on and off and how they well they work. All of that, in part, depends on our thoughts… So when we say we feel shut down by Negative Emotions it kind of makes sense.

~ Negative Thoughts lead to Stress which affects the Body’s ability to Heal itself.
~ This can all be reversed by Positive Thoughts of Love, Joy and Gratitude.Becoming aware of our Negative Thoughts is the first step. When you become aware of a Negative Thought, ask yourself if you can let go of it or reframe it. Sometimes looking for the Positive in any situation helps. Remembering things that you cause you to feel gratitude can also help you change that Negative pattern of thinking. It’s very important to notice when you are engaging in Negative Self Talk or holding onto Negative feelings. Just tell yourself to “Stop” and think of something that makes you happy or engage in Positive Self Talk…whether you believe it 100% or not. Positive Self Talk can be something simple like thinking ” Everything is OK, everything is Fine.” or ” I am thankful for all of my Blessings.” Positive Self Talk is very Powerful! And remember that giving Negative Energy to any situation, never helps and it can make you sick in both Mind and Body.

This also relates to messages that we give to ourselves… like…” I’m not very Sensuous.” Thinking of yourself as a Sensuous Person is all it takes to begin to change that mindset…

For other Sensuous Thoughts and Daily Sensuous Activities… refer to my Book ” Be Your Own Sensuous Life Coach” available from
